Recall of selected pre-packed lettuce Feb 2016

Coles has taken immediate steps to remove from sale a selection of pre-packed lettuce products in Victoria, New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory, Northern Territory and South Australia following a number of cases of salmonella infection potentially linked to these products.

• Western Australia, Queensland and Tasmania are not affected.
• Whole lettuces are also not affected.

The affected Coles products in the fresh produce department are:

• Pre-packed bags of Coles Spinach/Baby Spinach 60g, with a use by date up to and including 11 Feb 2016
• Pre-packed bags of Coles Rocket/Baby Rocket 60g, with a use by date up to and including 11 Feb 2016
• Pre-packed bags of Coles Rocket/Baby Rocket 120g, with a use by date up to and including 11 Feb 2016
• Pre-packed bags of Coles Spinach/Baby Spinach & Rocket 120g, with a use by date up to and including 11 Feb 2016
• Pre-packed bags of Coles Spinach/ Baby Spinach 120g, with a use by date up to and including 11 Feb 2016
• Pre-packed bags of Coles 4 Leaf Salad 120g, with a use by date up to and including 11 Feb 2016
• Pre-packed bags of Coles 4 Leaf Salad 200g, with a use by date up to and including 11 Feb 2016

Any Coles pre-packed lettuce with a use by date on or after 12 Feb 2016 is safe to consume.

Coles is also liaising with the supplier and the regulators regarding further steps.

Customers can return the products to Coles supermarkets for a full refund and any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice.
